Historian

Hi my name is Gareth and I’m the Chapter Historian and Photographer. My main role involves working with other members to assemble a collection of photos and materials that document the life of the Chapter and also make a record of Chapter activities, names of Chapter Officers and membership levels. I also have to input photos of the activities we do onto the website, as and when I catch you. I will also be taking photos for our “new members” section of our mag “RoadHOG”.

If any members have photos they will have taken at any of this year’s Chapter ride outs or events and would like to see them on the web site, please send them to me via photographer@greatwesternchapter.uk.

I first started riding motorcycles at the age of 15 on an old BSA 350 on a farm near my home. The next 25 years I worked as a motorcycle mechanic at various dealerships in the South Wales area. After riding everything from British bikes to Japanese multi-cylinders I bought my first Harley Davidson from Riders in 2003.

Whilst living in the South of France I was a member of the Esterel Cote D’Azur Chapter. I joined the GWC in 2011 along with my wife Laura and in 2016 I progressed from being a Road Marshal to a Road Captain.

At present I am an Operations Manager contracted to look after The Great Western Railway car parks in the South West area.
Look forward to seeing you at Club nights and events!
