As a Chapter we have a well established fundraising philosophy that has seen us raise in excess of £55,000 for a wide range of charitable causes over the past 16 years.
From 1st July 2019 we are supporting Headway Bristol following three successful years supporting Freewheelers Emergency Vehicle Service (Blood Bikes).
We raised £11,000 for Freewheelers which enabled them to buy a BMW800 motorcycle; Sat Nav units for all of the bikes in the fleet and front & rear facing cameras on all of the bikes.
Headway Bristol is a local registered charity with over 40 years’ experience in helping survivors of brain injury live as independently as possible.
It provides social and cognitive rehabilitation for adults with brain injury and support and respite for their families through the services offered at its centre and through one to one outreach.
It provides an understanding of all aspects of brain injury, focusing not just on the impact on the individual but also on their families and others who care for them.
Headway Bristol is based at the Frenchay Beckspool Building, Frenchay Park Road, Bristol BS16 1LE. Chapter members are welcome to visit the centre between 10 – 10.30am or after 2pm on Mondays – Fridays when they can view the facilities and meet the service users.
In addition to the usual fundraising function raising money for Headway we are encouraging members to become involved in projects at the centre as well as possibly volunteering to provide help to service users such as gardening, cooking, reading etc.
