Great Western Chapter celebrates ten years in The Hayfields
16th to 18th June 2017
‘Small and beautifully formed’ would be one way to describe GWC’s Hogs In The Hayfields Rally
Having around the 200 mark attendance allows us to keep to our friendly, inclusive rally format that is known and loved.
Gates open Friday lunchtime, which will give you time to pick up your rally pack (pin and patch for the first 200 tickets), a free hot drink and cake from the LOH hospitality tent before pitching your tent.
Relax before the evening ‘ice breaker’ audience participation game (nothing intellectual!) after which DJ Dave Curtis gets you up on the dancefloor.
Friday nights special guest band ‘Limited Edition’ is back by popular demand.
Saturday morning sees our organised ride out planned specifically to take you through some of the most spectacular areas of the surrounding countryside.
Known as the ‘Magnificent Seven’, we will be crossing the Avon Gorge over the Suspension Bridge then under it for the views, the Cumberland Bridge, into the countryside of East Somerset and onto the Avon Bridge at Avonmouth, onto the Second Severn Crossing and have a rest break at Magor. Then into the Welsh countryside via the Wentworth Reservoir, back via Shirenewton to the M48 Bridges (Wye and Severn) and via the back roads to the rally site.
So all in all 7 bridges crossed and plenty of scenery for all to take in.
Saturday afternoon sees DJ Dave Curtis entertaining you on the patio before you are invited to take part in some fun and games.
From late Saturday afternoon onwards why not continue the crazyiness of HITH10 and participate in the fancy dress theme of ‘Spivs and St Trinians’ (which doesn’t have to be gender specific by the way!).
You don’t need much in the way of fancy dress to be involved so no excuses about space on the bike. You must have your old school tie somewhere?
And what better way to celebrate 10 years at Cleve but with a return of GWC’s good friends ‘Devious’ on Saturday night.
Devious’s reputation for delivering great rock music along with their audience participation is second to none, and definitely not for the feint hearted. Definitely going to be a great night!
Come and join us this year 16th-18th June as 2017 sees our tenth rally at Cleve Rugby Club in The Hayfields, Bristol.
